All stages of production of a laminated board are under the rigid control. Quality control begins already at the stage of purchasing wood where we pay special attention to careful selection of the purchased materials, since the quality of finished production always corresponds to primary raw material.
The basic kind of our production is a glued vitrified cant. The first and basic steps of the control over production of a laminated board are precise saw cut and drying of sawn timber. The matter is that while drying wood changes its initial sizes, there arises compression along annual rings, and cracks are formed in it. For this reason before drying it is necessary to saw the log. The saw cut should be executed so that to receive a maximum quantity of edged boards with a radial and half-radial saw cut. Further from these edged boards the laminated board is manufactured. The pressure arising in a board of a radial and half-radial saw cut is ten times less than in the whole stem. The timber in them is homogeneous in colour and a wood texture and the interring sizes are minimal. Boards of a radial and half-radial saw cut are resistant to external influences and practically are not subject to deformations. We use such edged boards for production of a laminated board.
Process of drying takes a special place in production. It is conducted in drying tunnels of recurrent action at soft regimes. It preserves all physically-mechanic and decorative properties of timber. Wood drying tunnels allow drying up wood of various species from initial humidity of 60-80 % up to 10-12 %, necessary according to requirements of quality of a laminated board. Using the system of the automatic control and regulation of parameters of drying we guarantee production of dry lumbers with definite indicators of quality.
Thus the basic stages of production of a laminated board are:
- Saw cut of a log so that to receive the biggest possible number of boards of a radial and half-radial saw cut.
- Saw cut of boards to receive edged boards of necessary width.
- Drying of edged boards in drying tunnels at the light regime
- Calibration of edged boards.
- Carving out knots and defects from edged boards.
- Sorting pure edged boards into two groups: those that will be used as whole and those that will be spliced.
- Gluing spliced edged boards on to mini tongues under big pressure
- Gluing a laminated board from ready edged boards.
Tree species that are used for making vitrified cant are subdivided into two groups: coniferous and deciduous. Among coniferous species the pine takes a special place because it has smaller quantity of knots and, hence, it can be easily processed. Besides, wood of a pine contains a plenty of resinous matters - the natural antiseptics preserving wood from rotting.
The window made of glued vitrified cant is not only more aesthetically attractive than a plastic one, but it also surpasses it in durability, heat-isolation, stability of geometry and ecological compatibility since it does not educe any harmful substances.
